This opened up a new business line that requires combined in-house expertise in firearms, integrated electronics, optoelectronics, software and power-drive technologies.

FN Herstal offers a complete family of remote weapon stations called deFNder^® in order to meet today’s operational requirements. The deFNder^® Remote Weapon Stations provide optimized remote firing capability day and night while keeping the operator completely under armor protection. The deFNder^® family includes three models: the deFNder^® Light, the deFNder^® Medium and the Sea deFNder^®, the latter specifically designed for naval applications.

Highly flexible, FN Herstal collaborates with End Users and/or OEMs to ensure the systems are properly integrated onto their land or naval vehicles, for both new and already in-service platforms.
